I for one take the unpopular view, I read the Bible and from what I read and understand predestination is taught.  I feel that so many today hate it because they either do not understand the doctrine, or probably it is because so many have the wrong view of man as God views man.  We are all born into sin, which came from Adam.  God has always said that the soul that sins, will die.  I myself feel that God is all together just, righteous, and holy when he condemns all to hell, and guess what, we are all condemned to hell from birth.  I have the greater amazement that he has choosen to save any at all!  We are not as good as we think we are, God does not grade on a curve.  The passing grade is 100%, nothing less. I thank and praise God that he loved us so much to come here to earth to save his elect, that he had chosen from before foundation of the world.  We also can find in the Scripture that the gift of salvation is open to all who receive Christ.  Thanks be to God!

You will never find that God has predestined people to hell, because of our very nature that is where we are going.  It is only when we repent, confess our sins, that predestination comes into the picture.

I agree with you.  I suppose I have a mixed Armenian/Calvinist view on the topic, which both sides get frustrated with me.  But I do see it the same way.  I view Presdestination like this (which causes a stir among severe calvinists).  God forsees and knows the future, and He knows that out of the ones He calls, who will respond.  As He can see he knows.  However, like many Armenians, we have to answer that call.  I don't subscribe whole heartedly to the T.U.L.I.P. view,  and I do recognize that no one can come unless the Spirit draws him.  I do agree with you, that we were born into sin, and only the grace of our Lord Jesus can save us from that terrible fate.   We cannot work our way to salvation, we are called to it by God.
