I want to pray for all who are suffering from loneliness and alienation from their peers, and most of all from God. May they come to know the love of both and may they find the strength to love others as well.

I wonder if there are not some things that require more personal attentiveness than prayer alone should allow. I wonder because I spend more than enough time idly waddling in loneliness and self-pity while praying endlessly for relief. Is it not so, that a child living in his Father’s house has no need to petition for sustenance because it’s part and parcel of most familial relationships. It seems that loneliness and self-pity are well within the realm of personal control, and relief from which is a sweet byproduct of the cross. When will I ever get it?
