I play the guitar and I sing in my worship group on Friday nights at 7:30pm. I play Spanish songs. What does everyone else play?
Instruments or talents?

Kewl! A fellow guitarist and worship leader! I'm actually Worship Coordinator for my youth group. It's a Spanglish group so we sing songs in both English and Spanish. (Although, it's a little difficult for me to find worship songs in Spanish that are to my liking, but that's an issue of personal taste.) My youth group meets Friday nights too, but we meet at 8:30. At the youth group I only sing and play the guitar, but I also play other instruments.
God has granted me the gift of music so pretty much any instrument that falls into my hands gets played. At the moment I have about 6 guitars, a Puertorican cuatro, an acoustic/electric bass, a cello, a piano, two Peruvian Pipes, a small harp, an accordion, and a bunch of percussion instruments. Oh ya, and for worship purposes I have a Shofar. God has been good to me!
I actually write music too. I'm trying to finish recording a CD and make that my career. Well, I want to be a missionary Career-wise, but for money, and in order to promote the mission fields I want to be a CRA (Christian Recording Artist). I don't want to be a rock star, but I do want to help people and it would help more if God grants me "rock star status."
May God bless you and all worship leaders! Our role in the church is SO, SO, SO crucially important. Don't ever think that the gift God has given you is less important than any other. Just like there is no part of the body that's any more important than another, not even the position of pastor is any more important than than that of leading the people to The Throne of Grace. Again, may God Bless you and increse the talents He has already given you so you may be a blessing to others!
Rey, You play the harp, thats a beautiful instrument. You have been blessed. I think of harp, I think of David when he used to play the harp to release evil spirits. haha.
Its nice to know other people are involved in worship groups. We do worship in our group, followed by a Bible study of the Sunday's preaching.
I am debating if I should register for piano classes on Monday. Its my desire to learn so maybe I will do it. So we'll see.
Well I'll add my list to those here. I'm a singer/actor/musician. I sing and play piano, sax and a bit of clarinet. I write and arrange secular choral music but right now I'm singing in a pretty well known gospel choir here in the city. Actually one of my dreams and goals was to start a gospel choir (much like the one I currently sing in) comprised of the LGBT (and LGBT friendly) community. We'll see what God does with that! OH! I'm Rob btw
I was very active in the music of the Pentecostal Church growing up. I play piano, organ, sax, guitar, bass, and sing. I stopped playing for 15 years during my medical training (which took exactly that long). After Hurricane Katrina, many of us who lost so much realized what was really important in life. I started playing again and later discovered the world of electronic music production that had evolved during the time that I was buried in medical books. Making music has again enriched my life and allowed me to have another conduit to express my love of God and of my appreciation of his acceptance of me.
I have been quite at home in the Episcopal Church for several years, but I still miss the spontaneity and emotion in the old hymns and the way that they were sung in the Pentecostal Church. It was a void that remained until I recently discovered the music of artists Jason and Demarco and Alan Lett, whose unapologetic approach to the reconciliation of religion and sexuality through music have inspired me and have made my old spiritual connections with those old hymns come alive again. I can now listen to those old songs with a sense of affirmation and encouragement, not self-loathing.
I'm now producing lots of electronic music through the miracle of Logic Pro Studio and hope to post it soon. I have a few songs (mostly dance, chill, and jazz) posted on

Nothing special, just something to motivate me to become more adept at using Logic Pro Studio.
Thanks for the encouragement and friendship of this group.

Hello all, I'll make my first post here. I make my living as a woodwind doubler for the theatres around town. Flute, oboe, English Horn, clarinet, sax and bassoon. But some of my greatest fulfillment was playing for the Lord with a ten year world tour with the Celebrant Singers years ago. Worshipping God with our instruments and ministering to people afterwards in prayer gave a lot of meaning to life. I currently play periodically at my home church--Newport Pres.
Its great to see you all serving God with your gifts. Keep on serving!
Hi all. I play keyboards in my church, which is the only MCC in New Jersey. I also play keyboards in a band and sing. Our 5 member band is comprised entirely of gay men. We do original gay-themed pop songs as well as hits from the 80's and beyond. We play for weddings, civil unions, in bars and clubs and for events.
Hello Everyone,
My name is Anthony. Im new to RAINBOW CHRISTIANS.com! This is my 1st post. Im a church musician too! I play ORGAN and PIANO. I play for 2 different churches. Im sure im the "last of a dying breed" being an ORGANIST. Out here in California (northern California, San Francisco Bay Area/Central Coast) there aren't many organists to be found! Im pretty much an instrumentalist these days, but in the past, at other churches, I have lead worship and have been "minister of music". I do enjoy singing, but im not that good of a soloist. This year --2010--- I celebrate 20 years of muisc ministry. I absolutely love what I do (for Jesus!). NOthing like PRAISE and Worship of our God! I love all instruments (except bag pipes) I always admire other instrumentalists. When its piano or organ, I always hope I can learn something from them or they can learn something from me. I took lessons when I was young but my "style" came from listening, watching and imitating others! I also admire anyone who can play "by ear" , I dont have that gift. I read music and then memorize. Anywho glad to be part of the group, there are so many talented people here!
God Bless.
