For the prayer of peace

How then, in prayer may you ask for peace,

if you have not strength in your own will.

Is not peace found in the suffering and overcoming.

Is not peace in the quiet and the still.

So then if you cannot lay quiet and content in prayer

It is not the peace that you seek,

but the strength to overcome your woe.

For when burdens gather they leave you weak,

and peace is found when given to strength.
